Scores of Reports of Commission Not Implemented
In any case, the Commissions findings, conclusions and recommendations are all recommendatory and we know the fate of the reports of such Commissions. There have been more than 40 Commissions of Inquiry after Independence to look into major events like communal riots, assassinations, civil disturbances etc and the Report of Justice Srikrishna Commission on Post-Demolition Riots in Mumbai in 199293. They have not been implemented. The problem lies in that governments and political parties are not interested in finding the truth or securing justice but in making political capital.
